For some reason, I've got a soft spot for C.W. McCall's songs. Turns out that most of them are for my area of Colorado much to my delight. One of his songs is about the Black Bear Road. So despite the fact that I was heading for Ophir pass to cross to Telluride, I couldn't resist the lure of the Black Bear. It's another pass that heads from highway 550 to Telluride. It's well known for being a little, well, difficult.
